Care Guide
Premium leather is a living material that ages gracefully. With the right care, your Homeland Toro pieces will develop a beautiful patina and last a lifetime.
Why It Matters
Unlike synthetic materials, genuine leather continues to evolve long after it leaves our workshop. The oils in your hands, the climate you live in, and how you care for your goods all contribute to a unique patina—a lustrous surface sheen that gives leather its character.
Proper care doesn't just protect your investment—it enhances it. A well-maintained leather piece becomes more beautiful with every passing year, telling the story of the life you've lived with it.
Everyday Habits
Prolonged UV exposure fades and dries leather. Store your goods away from windows and direct light sources.
Leather and water don't mix well. If your leather gets wet, blot it gently and let it air dry naturally.
Always store your leather goods in the provided dust bags when not in use to prevent scratches and dust buildup.
Never store leather in plastic bags or airtight containers. Leather needs air circulation to stay supple.
Step by Step
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe away surface dust and dirt. Do this weekly for items in daily use.
For light stains, dampen a cloth with lukewarm water and gently dab the affected area. Never rub vigorously.
Never use alcohol, acetone, bleach, or household cleaners on leather. These strip natural oils and cause irreversible damage.
For tough stains or deep cleaning, consult a professional leather cleaner. It's worth the investment to protect your piece.

Every 3–6 Months
Use a high-quality leather conditioner or cream. Avoid products containing silicone or petroleum, which can clog pores.
Using a soft cloth, apply a small amount of conditioner in gentle, circular motions. Work in thin, even layers.
Allow the conditioner to absorb for 15 to 20 minutes. The leather will darken slightly as it drinks in the moisture.
Use a clean, dry cloth to buff the surface. This removes excess conditioner and brings out a beautiful, natural sheen.
Preserve the Shape
Stuff bags and larger items with acid-free tissue paper to help maintain their shape over time.
Always store items in the provided dust bags to protect from scratches and dust.
Keep leather goods in a cool, dry place with consistent temperature and humidity.
Avoid stacking heavy items on top of leather goods, which can cause permanent creasing.
For wallets and cardholders, avoid overstuffing to preserve the leather's form.
Rotate your leather goods regularly so they all receive equal use and rest.

Know Your Leather

The highest quality leather, featuring the complete grain surface. It develops a rich patina over time, making each piece uniquely yours. Requires minimal care due to its natural durability.
Care Tip
Condition every 4-6 months. Wipe with a dry cloth regularly. Scratches often blend naturally into the patina.

Tanned using natural plant extracts, this leather is eco-friendly and develops the most dramatic patina. It starts lighter and deepens beautifully with age and sunlight exposure.
Care Tip
Condition every 3-4 months. More sensitive to water, so apply a light waterproofing treatment. Expect and embrace color changes.

A versatile, uniform leather that resists water better than vegetable-tanned alternatives. It maintains its color consistency and offers a softer hand feel from day one.
Care Tip
Condition every 6 months. More forgiving with water exposure but still avoid soaking. Clean with a damp cloth as needed.
